Custom Keyboards Keycap Value
A four-question pricing checklist for trades, sells, and board slots.
Keycap value in Custom Keyboards is not a RAP chart. There is no official price list. This tool is four questions you ask before you sell, place, or trade. If you cannot answer them, keep the cap and kick something else.
The four questions
- What does it pay when I step it? HUD earnings beat rarity color. Place it for one cycle if you are unsure.
- Is it mutated? Mutants can out-earn a blank higher rarity. Mutations.
- Do I still need it on the board? Empty slots and holes in your step path are expensive. Best setups.
- Does someone on this 4-player server want it right now? Demand is local. A mutant two people asked about is worth more this hour than a blank S nobody mentioned.
Score it as keep, trade bait, or sell. Keycap tiers maps those to S through F. This page is how you assign the letter without a fake database of names.
Keep
Pays well, or pays okay and you have a hole. Mutant that steps like an A. Event piece that a Boba quest still needs. These do not leave the board for vendor trash.
Trade bait
Duplicate keepers. Mutants you cannot use because you already have a better slot. High demand, middling personal pay. Offer these in how to trade. Do not go-first.
Sell
Low step money, no mutation, no quest, no local demand. Sell-by-rarity is for this pile. If auto-sell is on, make sure keep and bait are locked. Scripts will not care about your feelings.
What value is not
- A number copied from Build a Keyboard dumpling crates.
- A YouTuber shout without a HUD screenshot.
- Robux pack price. Packs are a different sink.
- “Secret” as a word. Secret without step money is marketing.
- Owner tags. Impersonators inflate prices. Verify Kick a Keyboard, not a display name.
Quick compare table
| Situation | Action |
|---|---|
| Higher step than your worst slot | Place, sell the worst |
| Mutant, unknown pay | Place one cycle, then decide |
| Duplicate S | Trade bait |
| Boba quest item | Keep until quest done |
| Blank low rarity, no demand | Sell |
| Someone offers your only kicking keyboard | Decline |
Talking in the window
Say the step number if you have one. Say “mutant” if it is mutant. Say “duplicate” if it is extra. Do not say “this is 10M RAP.” That sentence belongs to a different Roblox economy.
If the other player will not look at step money, they are buying a picture. You can overprice a picture only if you are willing to miss the deal. Missing a bad deal is free. Trading.
After Boba and after rebirth
Event hype dies. Re-ask the four questions. Rebirth may change what you can afford to keep; read rebirth before you value a board you are about to reset.
This tool does not print a price. It prints a decision. Keep, bait, or sell. Then close the window and step the board.
If two people quote different letters for the same cap, ask for the step readout. If they cannot produce one, they are selling a screenshot. Walk back to your keyboard and kick. Offline earnings will cover the minute you did not spend arguing. Pair this checklist with upgrade priority when leftover cash from a sale wants to become a skin plot. The sale was for Kick Power and slots, not for decoration. That is how value stays honest on a 4-player plot.
